Blur star Damon Albarn has hit out at celebrity culture as we know it today; calling for shows such as X-Factor to be scrapped. He believes that we need to totally revolutionise the 21st century version of fame, proposing that we get rid of 99% of the media.

Speaking on the subject of talent shows; Damon says, “It’s creating a mindset that suggests you can get something for nothing and that it’s easy to acquire status and fame. It should be one of the hardest things to do”

Is he right? Is it too easy to become famous these days? I have been amidst many a conversation in the pub about how these kinds of shows make people ‘lazy’ when it comes to fame. True talented artists and musicians really have to work to become noticed; many spend their lives struggling without reaching the fame they desire. Let’s face it X-Factor hasn’t exactly produced legends. When was the last time you saw Gareth Gates in the charts?

More bad news has come to the Spice Girls. Don’t worry so bad though, no one got injured or kicked out of the group. But be worried about burglars because some clothes and jewelry were stolen from Victoria Beckham’s dressing room at their concert stop in Germany. She was the only Spice Girls targeted and Posh is reportedly gutted about it.

I’m sure she could just ask her husband to shell out more cash and buy her the exact same things she lost just so she would cheer up. Or she could get Roberto Cavalli to make some clothes for her. She’s freaking Victoria Beckham! She can buy more stuff!

I could have sworn that only last week I was telling you all how poor Kerry Katona really is with a tax debt of over £700,000. It was true too. She owes a fortune and the bailiffs will be round any time now, but Kerry is still living carefree, proven by her most recent purchase.

The 27 year old somehow found £11,000 to spend on hubby Mark Croft – his Christmas present is a brand new Ducati superbike. And while she was out spending money she doesn’t have, Kerry’s lawyers were desperately trying to buy her more time to pay her debt.

A pal revealed, “ Kerry doesn’t know when to stop spending. She has bills coming out of her ears but it doesn’t seem to faze her. She’ll spend spend spend until they come and repossess the house and the cars”

There are no confirmations of more good news but rumours will pacify me for now. You all know I like to report weddings, engagements and babies; so it will come as no surprise when I say “Congratulations” to pop star Lily Allen; despite no firm facts.

Earlier this week Lily revealed the happy occasion of expecting her first child with Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons; and now she has sparked rumours of forthcoming nuptials by wearing a stunning gold and diamond ring on her engagement finger.

Her spokes people were keen to play down the gossip but personally I think that’s just because they haven’t ‘officially’ announced it yet. Hoping I’m not wrong; here’s a big “Hurrah!” for the happy couple…

And this time it’s not a rumor. It’s just not the Spears you’d expect.

Britney comes up clean in this one. Instead, the mother-to-be is Britney’s teenage sister and Nickelodeon star Jamie Lynn. She has announced that she is pregnant at age 16 by 18 or 19 years old boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

Most of Jamie Lynn’s fans are in the “tween” age of 8-12. She is the star of Nickelodeon’s show Zoey 101. Parents are concerned about the lack of solid female teen role models for their children.

Well, at least she has her big sister Britney for advice….on how NOT to raise children. Her family says they like Casey Aldridge and believe he will stand by Jamie Lynn and take care of this baby.

I’d be worried about taking care of my own baby, if I were you, Mrs. Spears.

The champion of this year’s X-Factor contest has revealed that the sex ban that he imposed upon himself has now been lifted. So girls, Leon Jackson is free and single and declares “I’m ready for action”

Ooeer. The 18 year old banned all naughty behaviour for an astonishing 12 weeks so he could concentrate on his performance in the show. Blimey, I didn’t think an 18 year old was even capable of turning down sex for 12 days, never mind 12 weeks.

But it is over now and he is dreaming of not only a Christmas Number One, but to be Number One with the ladies too. He says, “I didn’t want any distractions – but that’s all changed now. I can’t wait to get stuck into my new life.

A notable quote from Lance was when he was asked about hiding his homosexuality when he was still in NSYNC. He says “I was always watching what I said, what I did, […] You would learn so many things throughout the years, like, gay people do this and gay people say this. Everyone has their own Christmas list and most of those lists are filled with some material and selfish things but not Meagan Good’s list. She’s all about spreading the love and happiness.

All Meagan wants for Christmas is for Britney Spears to be happy and to not have her ‘chi-chis’ on display. There’s a slight chance that she might get one to come true but I’m completely certain she won’t get both.

The actress was asked on Wednesday night was she wanted for the holidays and after thinking about it for a second, she busted out with wanting happiness for Brit. She could have gone farther with wishing for world peace.

Well we have all heard about long engagements; often they are encouraged to enable a couple to learn everything about each other before making the biggest commitment of their lives. Usually a couple of years is enough.

Not for Charlotte Church though. Despite having recently giving birth to their first child, the 21-year-old singer does not plan to marry boyfriend Gavin Henson for another ten years.

Blimey. I guess ten years will do the trick. Ok, I agree with her reasoning that Gavin needs to become a bit more sensible; especially after the recent train incident where he abused his fellow passengers whilst inebriated. But what is the sense behind planning to have three more children before walking down the aisle? Didn’t it used to be frowned upon to have children out of wedlock?

Weird. Each to their own I suppose.

Well ladies we all like a hunk or two to look at every now and then; but not all of us actually get to date one. However Denise Van Outen has won the jackpot with hunk Lee Mead; who won the part as Joseph on Any Dream Will Do.

Denise was a judge on the show and whilst filming admitted the obvious – Lee is gorgeous – but also said it was just a case of window-shopping as he had a girlfriend. Coincidentally Lee split with his girlfriend in October and after asking her out for dinner has now been dating Denise for four weeks.

A bit early for wedding bells but I bet there are a few green eyed monsters out there wishing Lee was dating them instead…

Wednesday was a good day for Shia LeBeouf as prosecutors read a letter from Walgreens Co. stating that they are not going to continue their suit against him.

The former Disney channel star and current star of “Transformers” was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after he was arrested on November 4th. He was shopping in a Chicago Walgreens drugstore when a security guard told him to leave because he appeared to be drunk. Shia refused and police were called.

No sobriety tests were done because Shia was not driving a vehicle.

Oh my goodness, call the cops; he’s trying to buy cold medicine….the horror!

Hollywood princess Paris Hilton was out partying with her boyfriend in a Miami nightclub at the weekend, when she became involved in a bizarre scene that involved rescuing performer Robin Sherwood as he was crushed by an over enthusiastic crowd.

A fellow clubber added: “Paris Hilton stayed with him until an ambulance came to take care of him. Paris was great, she was there until he was turned over to the medical technicians.”

Apparently Paris and Richard are very close friends; with Paris and close friends and family supporting a campaign to help Richard get treatment for his kidney failure.

See celebs are real people sometimes. And Oompa Loompas do exist – at least in Paris’s world anyway!

Amy Winehouse is a self-confessed bulimic, a genius singer/songwriter and a massive drug addict. And based on what she’s eating in this picture, it looks like the troubled stat is still torturing her body with the barfing.

Wino was spotted at a local convenience store in London on Thursday when she picked up a meal fit for a junky looking for a munch – junk food. Late Wednesday night, Amy surprised many by going on stage at the Jazz After Dark venue. People said she did great on stage and that after performing, she went on another binge by eating loads of calamari and tuna mayonnaise salad. It sounds delicious, too bad I think it just ended up in the toilet bowl.

His hometown of Orlando was the spot for former Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough’s wedding to his fiancee Leigh Boniello. The wedding took place on Saturday.

Guests say the ceremony was absolutely perfect. “The whole thing was like it belonged in a bridal magazine.”

Howie popped the question to Leigh this year on New Years. He said, “She wasn’t expecting it, and I was quite nervous - more nervous about proposing to her in front of 40 family and friends than about performing in front of 40,000 people onstage.” He proposed at her family’s home in New Jersey.

  I was under the impression that Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were fairly close friends; especially as they were seen out together at Britney’s 26th birthday celebration. But apparently they have has a falling out; resulting in Britney threatening to expose lesbian behaviour on Paris’s behalf.

Hmm. All sounds very petty to me. The story goes that Britney has footage of Paris in a compromising position with a mutual friend, and has written to her demanding that she stop being mean to people else Britney will release the video online.

But a source close to Hilton says; “It’s obvious Britney and her bratty pals are being silly. Paris laughed when she got the letter and said it was c**p.”

Obviously no matter how famous you are it doesn’t stop the school girl squabbles.

Juanes – he’s that hot Colombian musician that happens to be one of the country’s biggest music stars. The other one is Shakira. While Shakira is recognizable no matter where she goes, I can’t say the same for Juanes.

Earlier in the week, Juanes was at LAX and the crooner had to tell the photographers just who the heck he was. Paps actually referred to him as ‘guy with guitar’. I guess it goes to show that you can be as big as you can get but still mean absolutely nothing to some. Ouch! Maybe he should wear a nametag next time.

Nikki Blonsky and her younger brother Joey worked the green carpet at the ‘Movies Rock: A Celebration of Music in Film’ event held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. The show will air on Friday, December 7 at 9PM ET/PT on CBS.

19-year old Nikki didn’t perform but she does have some plans for a musical show of her own that she hopes to take on the road next year. “I’m putting my own choral show together to do with the Turtle Creek Chorale in Dallas, Texas, on Dec. 16 at the Texas Philharmonic. It’s the first time I’ve ever gotten the chance to put my own show together, and I hope it goes well. The theme of my show is ‘Anything can happen, follow your dreams.’ I’m just going to be singing a lot of fun songs that mean something to me and hopefully will mean something to my audience. Then, hopefully, by the time I’m ready to take the show on the road fully, I’ll have my album out and have worked in songs from the album.”

After High School Musical stars Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman showed up for the Australian Idol finale, it seems they’ve fallen in love with Australia – or maybe not. They were actually there to continue promoting the release of High School Musical 2 Extended Edition to Disney DVD.

If you’re over summer and already into the holidays, you can rock around the Christmas tree with Lucas and Monique on ‘A Disney Channel Holiday’ CD where they sing ‘Let it Snow’ and ‘Christmas Vacation’ respectively. Co-stars Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu along with Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers and The Cheetah Girls are also featured on the disc.

Not only did she make us look at her dressed like a doll…now she wants us to actually BUY her dolls?!

Kids will be lining up to buy a Marie Osmond Dancing-inspired doll from QVC. Dolls debut on November 29 at 6 p.m. There are four in the collection, each sporting an outfit that Marie wore on the show.

There’s the Boogie Woogie doll, the Paso Doble doll, the Quickstep doll, and the Freestyle doll from the season finale. There were two other dolls, the Samba doll and the Fox Trot dall, but both sold out previously.

Aww, Mom, can I have one for Christmas? Pleeeeaaassse? Yeah, right. I have no desire to encourage Marie’s shameless self promotion.
