Rhydian signs £1 mill record deal
Thursday, January 10th, 2008X-Factor runner up Rhydian Roberts has, as predicted by many, signed a £1million record deal with judge Simon Cowell. After all the fuss that was made over the results to the show it is obvious it really doesn’t matter who was proclaimed the winner after all.
Rhydian, 25, aims to have a debut single in the next few months, followed by an opera-style album. They and future albums will be under the Sony BMG label, which has the rights to Simon’s artists. A source said: “It will be typically Rhydian – lots of fun.”
His first album may even be out before winner Leon Jackson’s. Leon’s album is not expected until late autumn as the artist wishes to work on his singing.
Watchdogs are still probing into claims that the results show was fixed and that Rhydian’s phone lines were jammed.
