A drastic chop – Amy Winehouse
Sunday, January 13th, 2008Amy Winehouse’s trademark beehive hairstyle has had the chop – things are looking brighter for Amy as she reveals her remaining locks dyed peroxide blonde.
The Rehab singer unveiled her new look as she talked about her ‘drunk’ personality; admitting, “I’m a terrible drunk. Drinking long-term is a lot worse than doing heroin. Alcohol’s a real poison. I’m not a nice drunk. If I go to the gym and I have a drink, I’m lovely to be around. But if I haven’t been training or if there’s something bothering me, I’m a terrible drunk.”
Last night pals said Amy’s new do was the work of her hairdresser Alex Foden — who lives in her block of flats in Bow, East London. A friend said: “She just said she felt like it. She’d thought about having a blonde beehive but decided on the shorter look.”
Amy’s 1960s-style beehive has been central to her image since she shot to international fame last year. A spokesman for the star said: “She wanted a new look for the New Year.”
