Michael Phelps still subway endorser
Kellogg’s may have given up on Michael Phelps but the list of companies standing behind the Olympian is on the rise despite his weekend bout with pot. Another company standing by Michael Phelps is Subway. Yes dears, contrary to earlier reports that Subway has dropped Phelps because of his controversial pot-smoking photos, he is staying on as Subway’s endorser. Phelps was however dropped from Subway’s website. That’s sad because Phelps’ photo on the sandwich chain’s website would have solved a lot of subways especially among the curious and the uncomformists and there are plenty of them out there.
Subway representative Megan Driscoll said they were disappointed with Phelps’ behavior but they have accepted his apology and would like to move forward. Reports however show that Subway is pissed off with what happened and are considering the legalities of having their endorsement payment returned to them. Among the sponsors that are still supporting Phelps are Speedo, athletic drink PureSports, Swiss watchmaker Omega and Visa. So will Phelps still be eating those footlongs after all?
