Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

X Men spin-off Wolverine has been so popular at the box office that it’s getting it’s own spin-off!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine already has a sequel in the works after it took in a whopping $85m during its opening weekend in the US alone.

Now it has been revealed that there is also a Deadpool solo movie in active development, with Wolverine actor Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Wade Wilson, Marvel’s mutant assassin.

According to a source close to movie studio Fox, the Deadpool spin-off will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel.

The movie will be “a complete exploration of this unique character – his origins, his emergence as the Merc with the Mouth”, revealed the source.

The studio is currently seeking writers for the project.

A project more than five years in the making, the Deadpool movie will feature Reynolds in the role many fans are calling the best supporting role in Wolverine.

Oasis tour in trouble

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

The band is currently touring in South America and it seems they are treading on some very thin ice due to tensions on the inside. Noel Gallagher, Oasis’ guitarist, wrote the following about the band’s tour so far: “We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there’s a fuckin’ shit-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course. Strange atmosphere. I wouldn’t mind but we’re in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there’s a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really.” That’s such a profoundly metaphoric way for Noel Gallagher to be describing Oasis’ trouble on their tour in South America. Actually, it’s probably no longer a tour, but a noble quest that is decaying from the inside due to the evil plaguing one of the heroes. It will be interesting to watch this story unfold and to find out the identity of the mystery villain.
