Katherine Heigl returning to Grey’s Anatomy but T.R Knight calls it quits
Despite speculation that her long run as Dr Izzie Stevens was over, Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is expected to back up for the return season of the show.
The character recently was found battling a deadly form of melanoma that had spread to her brain and liver, and could easily have been written out of the show.
But ABC has reportedly said Heigl will finish out the last year of her contract while at the same time not confirming she would complete the upcoming season.
However, another veteran of the medical drama, T.R. Knight, is believed to have left, following a report from New York that Melissa George, who has already gone from the show, had leaked the news to US Magazine.
“Yes, he is [going],” the Australian-born actress reportedly told the mag at the Whitney Contemporaries Art Party and Auction.
The magazine claimed Knight, who plays Dr George O’Malley, had tired of the show’s creator Shonda Rimes and was released from his contract this week.
It quoted a source as saying: “He’s had enough of Shonda and ABC … He decided to take back his powers.”
