Twilight star Michael Welch has revealed he originally auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen in the movie.
Michael, 20, plays the role of Bella’s classmate Mike Newton in the hit vampire series and he said he auditioned for “pretty much every role” before Mike.
British actor Robert Pattinson, 23, landed the role of dreamy vampire Edward in the film saga.
Asked how he got the part of Mike, he said: “Actually, I originally auditioned for the role of Edward.
“And as much as I appreciate my representatives thinking that I could pull off hauntingly beautiful – the most gorgeous creature you will ever see on the planet – it’s not quite me.
“Then I auditioned for the role of Eric… I auditioned for pretty much every role before Mike. When we got to Mike, it really did seem to be the best fit.”
Makeover gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine donned US Army fatigues in their war against America’s fashion crimes.
In a striking departure from their usually flawless glamour, the British fashionistas wore baggy camouflage uniforms during a gruelling boot camp.
Of course, it was all in the name of fashion – their sights were firmly set on whipping Staff Sergeant LaShunda Rodgers into shape and destroying her “hoochie mama” style.
In an episode of their new reality TV series Making Over America, the dynamic duo stayed true to form, groping the single mum-of-three’s ample bosom and bottom to determine her shape.
The Iraqi War veteran – based at Fort Meade Army Base, Maryland – was desperate to be transformed into a “grown-up”.
“I’m going to be absolutely honest with you,” said Trinny, 45, when LaShunda emerged dressed to kill for a night out clubbing in a denim micro-mini skirt and flimsy camisole top.
“I see slutty. Really slutty. Those chains on your fanny are unreal.
“I’m seeing, ‘I’ll sleep with you for one night and then I’ll leave you.’”
By the end of the episode, curvy LaShunda had morphed into a sexy, sophisticated woman.
Kim Kardashian aims to take on the untold story of the world of public relations in a reality television show she will create and executive produce.
Kardashian’s show will follow her friends and PR gurus Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck, of Command Public Relations. “Every week we’ll have a different celebrity and a different crisis and drama,” she says. “The great thing about Jonathan and Simon is that they focus on corporate PR and building brands – they don’t represent any individuals, so they see the bigger picture. They see how to make a celebrity into a brand. I’ve seen so many things go so close to going wrong, and then they fix everything.”
Kardashian called the project the next step in her career. She said: “I’ve always wanted to get into producing. After my reality TV show is done, the next step is producing.”
The proposed series is said to have been picked up by an undisclosed cable network, which will screen it next year in 30-minute episodes.
How did Michael Jackson die? That question has been burning my mind since the passing of the King of Pop. With the release of the autopsy and information coming from investigations of both the singer’s personal physician and dermatologist, a timeline of events has been compiled to better understand what went down during the final hours of Michael’s life. Dr. Conrad Murray says that he tried to get Michael to sleep without Propofol and instead gave the singer a 10mg tablet of Valium. Michael was unable to fall asleep and was given other sedatives in the course of 6 hours but he remains awake. Around 10:40 AM on June 25th, Murray gives Michael 25mg of Propofol diluted with Lidocaine and the singer finally falls asleep. After 10 minutes, Murray leaves Michael to use the restroom but when he returns, the singer isn’t breathing. The question is, why wasn’t 911 called until 12:21 PM?
Aubrey O’Day doesn’t let up any opportunity to gain publicity for herself. The former Danity Kane singer has let the world know that she thinks that Heidi Montag’s Playboy pictorial was not risqué enough compared to her own. Aubrey even offered up some advice for ‘The Hills’ star is she decides to pose for the men’s magazine again. Aubrey said “I’d say … to just take that risk, really do something kind of … maybe do something she’s a little scared to do, so she overcomes a fear and feels really proud. You know, you can take a million pretty pictures, every celebrity girl has taken a million pretty pictures, but it’s like: Which pictures are really going to stand out and be iconic, and which pictures are just pretty pictures that are here today, gone tomorrow?”
Mischa Barton has broken her silence about her recent hospitalisation.
The OC actress has denied that she had a mental breakdown, when she was placed under psychiatric care in Los Angeles last month.
“I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once,” she told Time Out New York.
The Beautiful Life actress also revealed that before the incident she had been travelling abroad “for contract stuff”, then endured “terrible wisdom tooth surgery”, from which she is still recovering.
“I had to get through it [dental surgery] without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work. So it’s been a nightmare,” she said.
“I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while…
“I got completely stressed out and couldn’t handle everything, and now I feel really in control.”
Barton says that the reaction to her hospitalisation was blown totally out of proportion.
“The funny thing is, if all this happened in New York, no one would care,” she said.”
A legal row has erupted over a red-hot photograph of screen siren Megan Fox.
The stunning brunette graced the cover of Maxim magazine’s July issue, striking a sultry pose in a cleavage-exposing gold mini-dress.
According to TMZ.com, the same picture has now been used on a flyer advertising a club, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which failed to first get permission from the monthly publication.
Now, Maxim is launching a legal attack on the club, saying bosses are “infringing on Maxim trademarks and copyrights”.
The venue has been ordered to “immediately cease and desist from using the photograph (or any other Maxim material) from any of their flyers or other advertising material”.

Transformers star Megan Fox has had therapy to help her get over the sex demons that have tormented her since she was young.
Megan, 23, blames her insecurities and attitude to sex on her religious upbringing.
She told British newspaper the Daily Star Sunday: “I was raised Pentecostal, which is one of the most extreme denominations of Christianity that exists. Everything is evil and wrong and will send you to hell.”
She added: “So I had lots of talks about how sex was evil, sex was bad.”
Megan, who recently posed as a nun to promote her film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, openly rebelled as she questioned the beliefs she was taught at her religious school in Florida.
She said: “I fought against everything I was ever taught or told and that just created more of a monster when I was a teenager.”
She added: “I don’t ever feel sexy in small clothes. I always feel really insecure. I don’t like wearing make-up.”
Her role in the new film Jennifer’s Body, which hits UK cinemas on November 6, has helped to increase her confidence.
In the movie Megan plays a man-eating teenager who is possessed by a sex-mad spirit.
She said: “I get to exercise my demons through her. She has really deep, unfriendly insecurities which I can relate to.”
Reports that there will be five Twilight movies are “not accurate”, according to a rep for the film saga.
The movies are based on the four novels by author Stephenie Meyer. However, new actor Boo Boo Stewart recently claimed that there would be five movies in the saga.
A rep for Summit Entertainment said: “We appreciate our young actor’s enthusiasm for the franchise and his role, but his comments about the number of films were unfortunately uninformed and not accurate.
“However, the fans should rest assured the we’re working with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen.”
The first movie, Twilight, shot actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to international fame and the second film, New Moon, will be released at the end of the year.

Asked if she knew Jackson was famous when they first met, Kruger said: “I’ve never seen Dawson’s Creek. [Laughs] He said: ‘You’re the perfect girl for me, because you never saw me with pimples.’
“I’m not sure if I should watch it. When I met him, he was a man, you know? I’m not sure I want to see his awkward teenage mode!”
Kruger also said that she has discovered more about herself since she started a relationship with Jackson.
She said: “[I've discovered] that I like enthusiasm and openness in a man. Joshua has a lot of that and it takes me out of my more cynical side.”
Illusionist David Copperfield is being sued by a model accusing him of raping her after he lured her to his private island on the Bahamas.
The 22-year-old filed court papers insisting the celebrity magician raped and sexually assaulted her over two days – and even threatened to kill her.
The fashion model, who is not being named, launched the civil court attack seeking unspecified damages for infliction of emotional distress, false misrepresentation and false imprisonment.
She filed the lawsuit in US District Court in Seattle against David Seth Kotkin, Copperfield’s given name, on the deadline day for a two-year statute of limitations in the case.
But Copperfield – once married to supermodel Claudia Schiffer – immediately hit back, insisting the court battle is “extortion for money, plain and simple”.
Copperfield’s attorneys, Angelo Calfo and Patty Eakes, insists the woman “has a history of lying… which continues in this lawsuit.”
“Unfortunately, false claims like this only hurt the women who really have been abused,” a statement continues.
The star of the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe, 20, has directing in his sights.
His favoured flick would be a serious departure from the Hogwarts sagas, too. Radcliffe says he would like to direct a gangster movie.
A movie insider said: “Daniel’s been looking at lots of scripts trying to decide what he’d like to direct. But he’s now focusing on a story about a London gangster. Daniel wants to challenge people’s pre-conceptions of him.”
Radcliffe is working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and is slated to work on The Journey is The Destination.
As for rumours he was in the running for a role as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, Radcliffe brushed them aside.
“I’d have to say, ‘Thanks but no thanks.’ Not that anyone has asked me. Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway, it’s just too close. Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!”
Having thrown herself back into work, Mischa Barton was caught on the downtown set of The Beautiful Life with hair wet and a cigarette dangling from her mouth.
The actress, who has rushed back to New York to start work on the CW series after hospitalisation in Los Angeles, appeared healthy and intent on making it onto the set in time, however.
Barton, who bounced back from psychiatric treatment, is under some scrutiny as she struggles to get her career back on track. She has aroused the concern of some friends who think she is pushing herself too hard – and straight back to another breakdown.
A source said: “The fact she was out right away proves she’s not taking things seriously enough. It was like a big ‘f*** you.’ She’s too proud and independent sometimes.”
Suzanne Coppin, a friend, said: “I’m disappointed she’s not taking advice, and doing her own thing.”
Kourtney Kardashian said she thought “long and hard” about whether to keep her baby.
The 30-year-old reality star recently revealed she is expecting a baby at Christmas with boyfriend Scott Disick, 26.
She said: “I definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not, and I wasn’t thinking about adoption.
“I do think every woman should have the right to do what they want, but I don’t think it’s talked through enough. I can’t even tell you how many people just say: ‘Oh, get an abortion.’ Like it’s not a big deal.”
She added: “I looked online, and I was sitting on my bed hysterically crying, reading these stories of people who felt so guilty from having an abortion. I was just sitting there crying, thinking: ‘I can’t do that.’”
