Aussie actor puts in a weighty appearance

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

HERE’S some photos film hunk Chris Hemsworth might get all embarrassed about… because he’s showing off a double chin.

The now super-fit star was pictured at a friend’s wedding in his native Australia last December.

And he looks like he didn’t bother to shave for the occasion, either.

The on-the-up actor looks even less impressive next to his hunky younger brother Liam, who is sporting a shaved head.

After these shots were taken, Chris went on to give a star turn as Captain Kirk’s father George in the Star Trek movie.

He will also star in the upcoming remake of the 1980s classic Red Dawn and also as Thor in a movie about the Marvel superhero.

Meanwhile Liam has gone on to appear in the movie The Last Song with teen icon Miley Cyrus – and there have been rumours the pair have become an item.

The pics of him and his brother were all posted onto a friend’s social networking site.

Mischa Barton denies she had mental breakdown

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Mischa Barton has broken her silence about her recent hospitalisation.

The OC actress has denied that she had a mental breakdown, when she was placed under psychiatric care in Los Angeles last month.

“I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once,” she told Time Out New York.

The Beautiful Life actress also revealed that before the incident she had been travelling abroad “for contract stuff”, then endured “terrible wisdom tooth surgery”, from which she is still recovering.

“I had to get through it [dental surgery] without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work. So it’s been a nightmare,” she said.

“I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while…

“I got completely stressed out and couldn’t handle everything, and now I feel really in control.”

Barton says that the reaction to her hospitalisation was blown totally out of proportion.

“The funny thing is, if all this happened in New York, no one would care,” she said.”
