Batman named greatest superhero

Batman is eternally cool, having been named the greatest superhero of all time after kapowing pretenders to the title nearly half his age.
Reinvented by Christian Bale most recently, the 70-year-old caped crusader tops of a list compiled by sci-fi and fantasy group SFX. Wolverine (1974) and Iron Man (1963) were the runners-up.
“No matter how often he is reinvented – a noir detective in the ’40s, a camp icon in the ’60s, a gothic knight in the ’80s – he’s always the coolest, most recognisable superhero there is,” SFX website’s editor, Dave Golder.
Marvel Comics characters filled the ranks of seven out of 10 on the list, while the other three, Batman, Superman and Green Lantern, belong to DC Comics.
