True Blood star Ryan Kwanten said he finds smart women like Jennifer Connelly sexy.

Kwanten, 32, who plays the role of Ryan Stackhouse in the hit vampire show on HBO, admitted that looks aren’t everything to him.

He said to Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine: “I like the saying, ‘Beauty to no complexion is confined, is of all colours and by none defined,’ meaning what one person finds beautiful, someone else might not.

“That’s why I have a problem with being called a sex symbol – it’s such an unquantifiable factor. I’ve always found Jennifer Connelly appealing, both as a woman and actress. She’s got a degree too, so she’s a smart woman.”

Robert Pattinson’s first on-screen sex scene is with a man.

Pattinson told an Australian Sunday newspaper of his role as a young Salvador Dali who becomes poet Federico Garcia Lorca’s lover in Little Ashes: “I had to do all these hard-core gay sex scenes, when I haven’t even had a sex scene with a girl in a film yet.”

The gay role has done nothing to dampen the ardour of Pattinson’s female fans, however. The Twilight and former Harry Potter star is swamped wherever he goes. With incredulity he said: “To be honest, I still don’t really understand what’s going on. Like yesterday, I was having lunch down the road. We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street. It was just so nuts and it’s like that all the time now.”

Pattinson said the real credit for next installment of the Twilight vampire series – The Twilight Saga: New Moon (November 20) – belongs to Tyler Lautner. He said: “I’m not the lead in the second film. Taylor [Lautner] is. I appear in Bella’s dreams. So I’m in it but the focus is not on me. I just have significant moments at the beginning … and the end. So I’m more of a supporting role in this one, which is why I felt so free. I didn’t have to deal with any of the bullshit of the first one. I don’t have to hold the movie or worry about the fans. I think I did it better without all those pressures.”

Good Charlotte star Joel Madden recalled a recent plane trip where he met a WWII pilot and he said it was the “highlight” of his weekend.

Joel, 30, who recently became a dad for the second time when girlfriend Nicole Richie gave birth to their second child Sparrow, told on Twitter how he was travelling back from STL when he met the man.

He said: “Today i sat next to the raddest dude on my flight from STL. A WWII pilot.

“We sat and talked on our flight. He was a really nice man, and i was lucky enough to hear some stories. He had just returned from a reunion. Him and the remaining guys from his squad.

“It was one of those moments in life i felt lucky to have crossed paths with someone so awesome. It’s one of those moments i’ll never forget.

“if there was some kind of badge of honor to give him i would. I had a ton of questions and he obliged me. What an awesome person.

“That was really the highlight of my weekend. You never know who your gonna sit next to on a plane.”

Model Katie Price reportedly made Simon Cowell an X-rated offer at his recent 50th birthday.

The 31-year-old was just one of the guests at Simon’s lavish birthday party, along with Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Piers Morgan.

It seems that the troubled and unlucky in love singer has finally hit the jackpot once more… the problem is, nobody knows who this new man in Amy Winehouse’s life is. Only the following could be heard about Amy Winehouse’s new romance: “Amy’s been seeing a new guy for just over a month. He’s good for her. Frances Bean Cobain took it upon herself and her Twerbose account to rip Ali Lohan a new butt hole. I’m not sure what could have sparked this whole thing between Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s spawn and Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister but it’s so fun to read! Thankfully, Frances is easier to understand than her mom. Here’s some of what Frances said in her open letter: “You want to be famous?
