Rosamund Pike’s ‘southern gal act’ beat ticket
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
Bond girl Rosamund Pike, 30, narrowly escaped a brush with the law.
Driving between the southern states of Tennessee and Mississippi on a strip of secluded road she was nabbed passing through a stop sign.
The Die Another Day star recalled: “In 2006 I decided to fly into Memphis and drive down to Mississippi. I was driving down Highway 1, the only car for miles, thinking, ‘Another car could pull up alongside me now and I’d be defenceless.’”
But the car that did pull up was a local police vehicle. She added: “It was the police. I’d run through a stop sign. In the South, a woman can get away by playing the little girl lost routine, and he waved me on my way.”
