Leighton Meester has gotten herself into the holiday spirit as the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress turned singer has her own rendition of the yuletide classic ‘Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)’. The song is currently available for digital download on iTunes as part of the collection ‘A Very Special Christmas 7’. I wonder when she found the time to record a Christmas song given her busy schedule. But then again, with ‘Gossip Girl’ ratings going down, she may end up having a lot more free time on her hands. Is anyone still watching that show at all? I’d be surprised if it gets picked up for more seasons.
Kym Johnson, 33, the Australian winner of the latest gruelling bout of Dancing With the Stars with celebrity Donny Osmond, has faithfully blogged her experiences.
Johnson, a DWTS veteran who has competed with a string of dancing partners and a first-time winner, blogged: “Hi, everyone! Well, we did it! Today is obviously a fantastic one for me — Donny and I are now the Dancing with the Stars champions!
“I’ve been busy doing press appearances all day and haven’t had much sleep, but I wanted to take a moment to write a final blog to all the loyal OK! readers who have followed my dance journey with Donny all these weeks.
“I’m just so excited. I’m exhausted, but the adrenalin is taking me through this day. To have actually won is so amazing. I’m so proud of Donny. I haven’t decided where I’m going to put my DWTS mirror ball trophy yet, but it will definitely be somewhere I can see it all the time!”
Johnson won the plaudits of observers in her home country this morning. Osmond’s face beamed from newspapers, television and the Web.
Johnson continued: “Last night was one of the best moments of my life. When Tom Bergeron said ‘Donny and Kym,’ I just could not believe our names came out of his mouth. As it approached the end of the show last night, I was on pins and needles. When we got into the final two, I thought, oh, we’ve got a shot at this.”
Twilight: New Moon pin-up Taylor Lautner was deliberately given shirts that made his muscles stand out, the film’s costume designer has revealed.
Tish Monaghan says the teen’s costumes all had extra-short sleeves to emphasise his bulging biceps. “Everything was geared towards making sure that his arm muscles really showed,” she told a US mag. There’s a scene where he’s working on a motorcycle and his muscles are really pulling against this plaid shirt he’s wearing. He looks very strong and very built, and we tried to do the same with his T-shirts.”
Lautner, 17, plays werewolf Jacob Black in the film, which, despite its huge popularity, has been mocked for constantly featuring scenes in which he takes his shirt off.
Required to bulk up for the role, in which he changes shape amazingly, he obliged by piling on 14kg. Monaghan, from Vancouver said she had to come up with clothes which would emphasise his extra size.
“There was no way, since it was the same actor, that we could show somebody that had grown like six inches,” she said. “So it was Chris Weitz’s [the New Moon director's] genius idea to tailor his clothes, to make the sleeves a little bit shorter, a little bit tighter – make it look as if he’s grown out of his clothes in a couple of months and hadn’t had time to go get new ones.
Kim Kardashian has revealed the touching story behind her recent boxing match and the reason she fought so hard.
Kim, 28, and her family recently fought in the charity match for the Dream Foundation and she met a girl before the match whose wish was to meet the reality star.
She wrote on her blog: “I received an e-mail right before Thanksgiving that made me so sad. There was a girl that came to our boxing match named Carol Ann whose Dream Foundation wish was to meet me.
“I spent some time with Carol Ann right before our boxing match and she was such a sweet and loving girl. She told me how courageous I was for even stepping into the ring. She said she was a fighter and I knew then I wanted to be just like her!
“Sadly, Carol Ann lost her fight with cancer and passed away last week. Carol Ann was the reason I fought, even after Rob got hurt and the commission tried to stop the event continuing.”

Vampire movie New Moon has sent sales of pale foundation sky high as fans try and copy the looks of its stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
Fake tan is being forgotten in favour of a pale complexion as women take inspiration from the movie and buy pale face powders and foundation.
According to online beauty store FeelUnique.com, sales of pale make-up have risen 200 per cent in the last month.
The best-selling product on the site was their pale pink illuminating powder by Bare Escentuals, which is called Mineral Veil.
The website says their sales of L’Oreal’s True Match powder in rose ivory rocketed by 133 per cent in the lead-up to New Moon’s release on November 20.
Megan Fox has bought her boyfriend a classic car, which she found on internet auction site eBay.
The Transformers actress snapped up the red 1966 Mustang Fastback for actor Brian Austin Green – her on-off beau of five years.
Fox, 23, showed off a picture of the vehicle – which looks like it needs a bit of work – during an appearance on Jay Leno’s US chat show.
“We were going through cars on eBay and I found one in really good condition that was beautiful and for a good price,” she said.
Fox, from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, also revealed how she was a bit of a wild child, who was constantly grounded.
“I used to steal my Mom’s car all the time when I was like 14 and 15 right before I got my licence,’ she said. “She used to drive a teal Kia and I would steal it and sneak over to my boyfriend’s house.
She didn’t let me get my licence until I was almost 18 because she thought I would never come back once I had it.”
Fox added: “I was grounded constantly. She would put me in my room and then I would climb out the second-storey window.”
The Hills star Brody Jenner said the reality show doesn’t show how funny he really is.
The 26-year-old TV personality, whose dad is Olympian Bruce Jenner, admitted that he is happy at how he comes across on the show, but he is a lot funnier.
He said to UK magazine Mizz: “Yeah, I am [happy], but they don’t show a lot – I mean, I can be really funny and all they seem to show is me talking about feelings to a bunch of girls.
“They just wanna show the drama. Also, I do work and stuff, they never show me actually doing anything!”
Cops are saying that a young girl ended up going to the hospital after fans went crazy in anticipation for the arrival of 15-year old music sensation Justin Bieber at a Long Island mall. The singer never showed, because over 1000 screaming girls showed up and mall security lost control of the crowd. The senior VP for sales at Def Jam records, James Roppo, also ended up getting arrested. Justin posted a message on his Twitter account amidst all the chaos, pleading with fans to leave the mall, saying “The event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. please go home. the police have already arrested one person from my camp. I dont want anyone hurt.”
New Moon star Peter Facinelli said he almost got beaten up when he had his first kiss aged 15.
The 35-year-old actor, who plays the role of Dr Carlisle Cullen in the hit movie series, admitted that his first kiss didn’t go quite to plan when he was a teenager at a carnival in New York.
He said: “It went horribly. I found out that this girl was dating someone that I knew. The guy was very upset that I was kissing his girlfriend and I almost got my butt kicked over my first kiss.”
His co-star Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen, also revealed his first kiss memories.
He said: “I was playing truth or dare when I had my first kiss. I was probably seven. I learned to hold the girl and I won best kisser.”
There was a time when Nick Lachey was a singer in a boy band. In 2009, that means absolutely jack. However, being in that band had led Nick to a job hosting ‘The Sing-Off’, a new televised singing competition on NBC. The show will begin airing on December 14th and will be a four-night special featuring eight singing groups that will be performing strictly a cappella to win a contract with Epic Records/Sony Recording. Nick spoke of the show, saying “There is nowhere to hide when you’re doing an a cappella song. There’s no band behind you and dubbing. It’s just you. It’s just them naked on stage and what they have done to prepare is what will show through in that moment.”
Jedward has become the target of death threats made on Facebook.
The controversial Irish twin act of John and Edward Grimes, 18, has been threatened with such barbed Facebook postings as: “ive found my sniper rifle, dose any1 have any bullets for a type 72 scout sniper i could borrow. jedward soon to be deadward.”
Jedward bashing is one thing, but Facebook death postings are another. X Factor bosses wasted no time in calling them hate crimes against Jedward and amping up the security surrounding the singing act everyone loves to hate, the eNews of the World reported.
Another FB posting reads: “Those b****** twins need shooting. i recommend someone get their hands on a Barrett 50 cal and blow their bloody brains out!”
And one FB user wrote: “wish i could just go up to john and edward and kill them with a knife.”
An X Factor source said: “There’s no way that will be able to happen again. Safety is paramount to us. We need to protect all the contestants but John and Edward have had a lot of attention from the start so they are a unique case. These threats are mad and disgusting.”
Several anti-Jedward groups have also sprouted on Facebook. A spokesman said: “We encourage debate, and we’re not policing negative comments. But when it comes to death threats and hate crimes like this, we will work with Facebook to get them taken down.”
Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has said Twilight star Robert Pattinson is ‘coping well’ with fame.
Radcliffe, 20, starred alongside Pattinson, 23, in the movie Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.
Talking about Pattinson’s rise to fame following the release of movie Twilight, Radcliffe said: “I wouldn’t have any advice. He seems to be coping well.”
He added: “I haven’t spoken to Robert since we saw each other at the opening of a gallery three years ago. We’ve been sort of exchanging advice through journalists, bizarrely.”
Talking about fame, he added: “It is totally mad, when people are screaming and going absolutely insane for you.
“Particularly with Robert – the amount of women who would jump on him – you have to keep it in some kind of perspective, by thinking: ‘Well, partly they like me and partly they are just attracted to the character.’
“As long as you don’t think: ‘Oh yeah, God they’re all doing this – I must be absolutely fantastic.’ As long as you do that, you should be all right.”
Christina Aguilera will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party at Tao Las Vegas. Tickets to the singer/actress’ party are currently being sold at $150 per person. The package includes entry into the nightclub, open bar and hors d’oeuvres from 9-11 PM and a champagne toast at midnight. I wonder whether Christina will be performing at the party or will just act like a host or a guest. She better perform. The Twilight Saga: New Moon brought in a staggering $26.27 million for overnight showings, new figures have revealed.
The movie, which stars heart-throb actor Robert Pattinson, broke the record set by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in July.
The Potter flick earned $22.2 million in overnight showings on July 15.
Paul Dergarabedian, president of Hollywood.com Box-Office, said New Moon’s overnight take ‘portends an opening weekend that could be one of the biggest of the year’.
The Twilight films are adapted from a series of vampire-based fantasy novels by American author Stephenie Meyer.
They chart a period in the life of Isabella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, who falls in love with 104-year-old vampire Edward Cullen, portrayed by Pattinson.
The series of books has sold more than 85 million copies worldwide and been translated into more than 38 different languages across the globe.
After New Moon and Half-Blood Prince, the films that earned the most in midnight screenings are The Dark Knight ($18.5 million), Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ($16.9 million) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ($16 million).
