Daniel Radcliffe “categorically” denied he smoked cannabis at a London party.

The Harry Potter star was reported to have allegedly smoked cannabis at a hip north London party with the publication of photographs by the city’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

A spokeswoman for Radcliffe, 20, said: “Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this.

“We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today’s Daily Mirror. We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations.”

The Mirror, meanwhile, said: “While many were shocked by the Mirror’s photos – in which Daniel was also seen giggling as a female friend scribbled a comedy beard on to his face – hundreds leapt to the star’s defence. One warned: ‘If he loves weed let’s hope it loves him back and he doesn’t end up with drug-induced psychosis.’”

Diehard Twilight fans have reportedly queued for five days hoping to catch a glimpse of the hit movie’s stars at the LA premiere of the sequel New Moon.

The fans have camped out at Mann’s Village Theatre and Bruin Theatre, in Westwood, ready for the New Moon premiere tonight, according to reports.

One Twilight devotee, Alison Genet, who drove all the way from Arizona, said: “I couldn’t get here fast enough.”

Her friend, Kim Clarkson, who is also hoping to get closer to Twilight hunks Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner at the premiere, added: “I’m here camping for Robert Pattinson! I’m here camping to see my man!”

Twilight mania is set to intensify as the week goes on.

New Moon, the sequel in the vampire saga based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels, is due to hit cinemas in the UK on Friday.

Summit Entertainment is hoping to match the success of the first film, which grossed more than $383.6m worldwide.
