Taylor Lautner to play superhero in Max Steel

New Moon star Taylor Lautner is to take on the role of a superhero in the Paramount movie Max Steel, according to US reports.
The 17-year-old will play the part of a sports junkie who is recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body and leaves him with superhero powers.
The movie is inspired by the popular Mattel toy line, and Paramount is now turning the toy into a feature franchise.
Bosses at Summit Entertainment had previously claimed that the actor would be snapped up for this kind of role after bulking up for his part as werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight movie saga.
The screenwriters Chad Damiani and JP Lavin have been recruited to pen the script, but no director has been hired as of yet.
