I may have found the reason as to why Adam Lambert loves to wear black. In a recent radio interview, the openly gay singer revealed that he was a fat kid, saying “When I was in high school I was 250 pounds and that creates some stuff…some body image stuff, some confidence issues, and I got a lot of my confidences from validation I got as a performer.” I for one am glad that he managed to pull himself together to lose weight. If he didn’t, he may have ended up as a contestant on Biggest Loser instead of American Idol.
Nick Jonas recently announced on his blog that he and his band The Administration will be kicking off a month-long tour starting January 2nd. The Jonas Brothers member will be performing in more intimate settings, so if he happens to be your favorite of the trio, you can expect to be getting a lot closer than all of those sold out arenas. Tickets for his concerts will go on sale in select cities on December 5th and everywhere else on December 12th. I have a feeling that a lot of teenage girls will be switching around their Christmas wish lists for this one.
Spiderman star Tobey Maguire says it is ‘challenging’ to juggle a film career and time with his family.
Maguire, 36, became a dad for the second time last year when his wife Jennifer Meyer gave birth to their son Otis. The couple also have a three-year-old daughter Ruby.
Talking about new flick Brothers, he told The Boston Globe: “You’re working on the movie 12 to 14 hours a day, and then going home and preparing for the next day, memorising lines, reflecting on what you did, and thinking about what you have to do the next day.
“It wasn’t easy. Put it this way, my wife told me I wasn’t much fun to be around for those few months.”
Maguire added that the intensity of filming can sometimes be tough when you have a young family.
He said: “It’s always challenging. It does create tension [in the relationship]. But my wife, she understands, and we both do the best we can to get through those experiences.”
The singer recently made even more unveilings as to the nature of her relationship with her father and why they became more and more distanced from each other. Rihanna related the following about how her father reacted after the incident with Chris Brown:
“He kind of did something that was really upsetting. He turned his back on me and went to the media. He got paid to talk about stuff – all these little interviews he was doing after the whole situation in February. I hadn’t spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did. It was so disappointing to me.” Well, well… isn’t this an interesting new story for Rihanna to tell her grandchildren. Why now? Wouldn’t it just have been better for Rihanna to leave this in the shadows… doubtfully coming clean now will solve anything. But as for making matters worse… well, now there’s a possibility!
Orson Welles’ daughter is objecting to the star-studded film that takes the blighted film director’s life as its subject and his name as its title, Me And Orson Welles.
Chris Welles Feder claims the movie, which stars Zac Efron and Claire Danes, provides a negative portrayal of her father as a womaniser, calling it “laughable”.
Welles Feder said: “That’s not my father – it’s a distortion. They took all the negative things and fashioned a character that’s a caricature. It’s laughable.”
Welles Feder’s half-sister, Beatrice, refused to see the film, which is the creation of Richard Linklater.
Welles Feder objected to what she saw as a portrayal of her father, acted by Christian McKay, as a dictator and philanderer who cheated on her mother when she was pregnant. She also rejected what she saw as the depiction of his harsh treatment of an actor. She said: “It’s inconceivable my father would ever act as he did toward Zac Efron’s character – he was known for being kind to his actors.”
McKay for his part, defended the movie in response to Welles’ daughter’s opposition. He said: “I respect her opinion enormously. At the same time – if we made him more likeable, we’d have taken all the drama away.”
Jennifer Lopez’s lawyer says there is no sex in the videotape she has succeeded in suppressing.
Lopez won a legal fight with her ex-husband Ojani Noa, who was attempting with his manager to have a home video of Lopez and other materials made public.
But Lopez’s attorney, John Lavely, maintained there was nothing salacious in the footage: “There wasn’t anything close to sex in it. We never alleged that. But it’s still private and personal to my client.”
The footage was earlier reported to have Lopez in shorts on a motorcycle and be taken from their honeymoon in Cuba and married life in Florida.
A Los Angeles court upheld an earlier ruling that ran to December 1 and barred Noa from using the 11 hours of home video for a mockumentary about his life as a Cuban immigrant.
It earlier had the title How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story.
Speaking outside court, Noa said: “They’re trying to stop me from making my documentary and I’m fighting for my rights. They’re not being fair.”
New Moon star Kellan Lutz has revealed he adopted a dog after finding it stray on the street.
The 24-year-old, who plays vampire Emmett Cullen in the hit Twilight Saga, said he’s planning to take his new little dog back home to Arizona.
He said: “I just adopted a new dog, Kevin. I found a stray on the street. He’s like a little Chihuahua that all the neighbours were into.”
Asked how he found him, he said: “I don’t know why, but he just lay on the street and acted dead and all these cars drove around him.”
He will now be taking his little pet Kevin back to his home in Arizona: “I’m going home to Arizona, which I only get to do once a year. So I’m taking him to Arizona, too.”
Single 90210 siren AnnaLynne McCord is on the lookout for a boyfriend – but wants “a man, not a boy”.
The TV beauty, who plays vixen Naomi in the remake of 90s hit Beverly Hills 90210, told how she likes confident men who will stand up to her.
She said: “I’m single and I do have a type of guy. I want a man, not a boy. That’s very important. There are a lot of boys here, even 45 years old….
“Not one who thinks he is a man, one that actually is a man. There’s a difference. I think it’s mostly about confidence. It’s just like with what I do, especially the roles I play, they are kind of naughty.”
McCord, who has been romantically linked to Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz, also told US chat show host Conan O’Brien: “I have to have someone who is confident, who is secure in themselves. I’m a little fighter, so unless you’re going to fight me and win – which you probably won’t, I’m hoping that you will, I’m really pulling for you, but you’re not going to win.”
Actress Brittany Murphy has denied reports that she has been fired from her new flick and replaced by Twilight’s Rachelle Lefevre.
Reports said that Murphy, 32, was fired from the set of her latest film for being difficult and that her Brit husband Simon Monjack, who was recently hospitalised, had fought with locals.
However her rep has since dismissed the reports and said that none of them are true.
A rep said: “The allegations currently circulating on the internet about Brittany Murphy and her husband Simon Monjack read like a fictional plot from one of the 50 plus movies Ms Murphy has successfully completed without incident.
“She was not, nor has she ever been fired from any job big or small. Mr Monjack did not engage in any alleged scuffles. Though due to creative difficulties Ms Murphy and the production mutually parted ways.
“As far as wanting to allegedly ‘sabotage this project’, to the contrary Ms Murphy wished this production nothing but the best.
“Puerto Rico gave Ms Murphy a brief insight into its wonderful culture and warm people. Ms Murphy would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their continued support.”
Well it’s not the light at the end of the mythical tunnel, as some might feel inclined to think. No, actually, Katy Perry’s parents seem to have taken a big shine to Russell Brand, so much so that they want to help him discover God. Katy Perry’s mother actually said the following about this: “Russell must go towards the light and not toward the darkness. Only God can take the very worst person and turn them around for good.” Oooookei, looks like Russell Brand is really getting into the right family. Yet another daunting task for him, but he’ll probably pull through. After all, Katy Perry is really worth it, isn’t she?
