Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren is believed to have watched his tearful public apology at home on TV.
After refusing to stand by his side in a show of solidarity, the mother of his two young children was spotted going about her daily chores in the hours before Tiger delivered his grovelling statement at the PGA Tour headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
And along with millions of people across the globe, the stunning ex-swimwear model tuned in to watch shamed love cheat Tiger beg for forgiveness after letting down his family and his fans by having up to 14 steamy affairs with porn stars, cocktail waitresses and party hostesses.
Friends have already said that Elin, 30, is not the type of woman to be used as a “prop” in Tiger’s carefully orchestrated comeback.
Refusing to take part in what was expected to be America’s biggest TV moment of the year, she spent the morning in their well-to-do neighbourhood of Windermere, Orlando.
Driven by a security guard, she left her rented mansion – half a mile away from the family’s Isleworth home – at 8.45am and returned half-an-hour later.
She is believed to have a divorce on hold after her husband sought rehab for his sex addition at a clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
