An insider said: “The offer has been on the table for Megan for a while but she’s reluctantly turned it down.
“She’s the logical choice to play Lara and she loves the character, but the comparison with Angelina is too much. It looks like the movie will now star an unknown.”

Tiger Woods’ alleged mistress Joslyn James has released more evidence of her affair with the shamed golf star, according to reports.
The porn star has released photos of an envelope containing a key that Woods allegedly left for her at the reception desk of the Courtyard Marriot hotel during his stay in Flint, Michigan, in 2009.
The photos clearly shows James’ real name, Daniels, on the envelope and there is also an image of a USA Today Newspaper that James claims was delivered to the room where the pair spent the night.
The photos come hot on the heels of the picture of a Chicago hotel room key that James recently posted on her website.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend Bar Refaeli has said her short split with the actor has made their relationship stronger.
Refaeli, 24, had dated the 35-year-old Shutter Island star for two years before they split for six months but got back together in December last year.
The Israeli model admitted that she went out with a few different guys but nothing stuck.
She said: “It was fun. I tried going out with this one and I tried going out with that one. I met men of the world.”

The actress says her little girl may have got confused after hearing people compare her mum to Sarah Palin.

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz has reportedly signed up to star in new movie The War Of The Gods.
The 25-year-old actor – best known as vampire Emmett Cullen in the Twilight films – will play the sea god Poseidon in Universal’s upcoming action epic.
According to Variety, the film’s plot centres on a clash between men, gods and Titans in ancient Greece.
Tarsem Singh will direct the movie, while The Wrestler star Mickey Rourke and Slumdog Millionaire beauty Freida Pinto round out the cast.
Actress Chloe Sevigny thought the latest season of her hit show Big Love was ‘awful’.
Sevigny, 35, plays the role of Nikki in the hit HBO show and won the Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe this year.
However, she said in an interview with A.V. Club that she didn’t think the new season was its best.
She said: “It was awful this season, as far as I’m concerned. I’m not allowed to say that!”
Sevigny added: “I feel like it kind of got away from itself. The whole political campaign seemed to me very far-fetched.
“I mean, I love the show, I love my character, I love the writing, but I felt like they were really pushing it this last season. And with nine episodes, I think they were just squishing too much in.”

US president Barack Obama has expressed his support for fallen golfer Tiger Woods.
Obama said Woods will be a “terrific” golfer despite his personal issues, the AP reports.
Woods, who just announced his return to competitive golf, is reported on the road to re-establishing his sporting career after the fallout from revelations of multiple extra-marital affairs. He announced he would play The Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia next month, as insiders noted he picked the “most controlled” of tourneys for a comeback.
Obama in an interview with the Fox News Channel on Wednesday said that Woods has acknowledged betraying his family and that he has to work out personal issues. Obama said he was sure Woods is still going to be a terrific golfer.
