Hollywood star Mel Gibson is being investigated by police over domestic abuse allegations.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s office launched the investigation following the leaking of a tape in recent days, purportedly featuring Gibson yelling at then-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

On the tape, obtained by RadarOnline.com, Gibson is reportedly heard having a racist rant, allegedly yelled at the Russian singer and calling her a “whore”, a “c***” and a “b****”.

“You’re an embarrassment to me,” he reportedly tells her at one point during the row. “You look like a f***ing pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of n****rs, it will be your fault.”

Oksana – the 40-year-old mother of Gibson’s baby daughter Lucia – secretly taped his outbursts.

RadarOnline also claimed it has listened to a tape recording made after a January 6 altercation in which Grigorieva can be heard saying: “What kind of a man is it who would hit a woman when she is holding a child in her hands, hitting her twice in the face? What kind of a man is that?”

A person, supposedly Gibson, then says: “You know what? You f***ing deserved it.”

A statement released by the Sheriff’s department reads: “An investigation of domestic violence was launched by [Los Angeles Sheriff's] Malibu/Lost Hills station detectives… involving actor Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

“The detective in charge of the investigation is currently gathering information regarding the allegations. Due to the investigation being preliminary in nature, no other information is available at this time.”

The statement refers to an incident between the couple occurring on January 6, 2010 – the same day the explosive tape was reportedly made.

Lindsay Lohan’s mum has admitted her daughter is “scared to death” about her prison term.

The 24-year-old actress was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail by a judge in Beverly Hills.

Her mum Dina spoke to Entertainment Tonight and said: “Lindsay’s scared to death.”

She was asked if Lindsay will be able to survive the spell inside and she replied: “You know, she’s strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that… we’re going to have to see.”

Dina added that her daughter is hoping to appeal the decision before her jail term starts on July 20.

She said: “She’s a fighter, and until the final result, we’re not giving up. I think it’s time we get another attorney just to see it from another light and do damage control.”

Model Daisy Lowe has reportedly been discussing marriage with her Doctor Who lover Matt Smith.

Lowe, 21, has been dating the 27-year-old actor on and off since they met at the Coachella Festival earlier this year.

The pair recently spent a romantic weekend together and it is claimed marriage was talked about.

A source said to Britain’s Now magazine: “Daisy and Matt have told each other they’ve never been this in love before. They’re committed to making their relationship a priority.

“Daisy says she’s never made a connection like this with any other man and Matt said he’d marry her tomorrow. A couple of months back they went through a rough patch, which led to their split, but they were miserable without each other and it’s made them inseparable.”
