Mario Lopez to get VH1 documentary about becoming dad

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Extra host Mario Lopez is to make a VH1 documentary about becoming a dad.

The 36-year-old TV presenter is expecting his first baby with girlfriend Courtney Mazza, and they plan to reveal details about their journey to becoming parents in an eight-episode series for VH1.

He will be seen balancing his role as a host on Extra and America’s Best Dance Crew with fatherhood.

Jeff Olde, VH1′s Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Production, said: “Our audience has grown up with Mario. They have watched him go from a kid in a fictional high school to a man who has succeeded in many different facets in the TV business.

“We’re thrilled that we get to be a part of his next transition into fatherhood. This new series fits perfectly with VH1′s programming because Mario’s upcoming life changes reflect the same family milestones that many of our viewers are experiencing for the first time.’
