Jude Law acquired a new set of friends when he made a guest appearance on Sesame Street. The 38-year-old actor met a monkey, a mouse and an octopus, as he taught viewers of the kids’ TV show the word “cling”. “The word ‘cling’ means to stick to. I’d love to show you ‘cling’, but I have nothing here that I can cling to,” Law told viewers. Right on cue, a yellow monkey arrived and clung to the Alfie star’s right leg, a blue mouse grabbed his right leg, while a purple octopus appeared over his shoulder. “Why are you all clinging to me?” he asked. “Because we love you, Jude Law,” the trio trilled in unison. Law’s appearance on Sesame Street was considerably less controversial than the music video Katy Perry filmed for the children’s TV show. Producers reportedly cut her skit from the 41st series after viewers deemed it too suggestive.

Well, it’s not like Miley Cyrus actually has to care about this since she’ll be eighteen next month, but it seems that her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, have agreed to joint custody of their children. They recently decided on a divorce, but it seems to all be going swimmingly as there haven’t been any heated exchanges of words or threats. It’s all going down smoothly. It looks like Miley Cyrus might actually have a happy home for many more months to come. That is, if Billy Ray and Tish don’t find something that comes as a wedge in their plans.
The long-time companion of tragic model and actress Anna Nicole Smith was today found guilty of helping to funnel prescription medications to the former Playboy Playmate. After 58-hours of deliberation the jury convicted Howard K. Stern, 41, on two counts of conspiracy for allegedly fuelling the starlet’s raging prescription drug problem that ultimately killed her. Stern was acquitted of seven other charges. Outside the court, Stern made a brief statement, saying, “Everything related to the appropriateness of the medication, I was acquitted of.” Psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich was convicted of four criminal counts, including two conspiracy charges. Another doctor, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, was acquitted of all charges. Asked outside the courthouse for his reaction to the verdicts, Kapoor said, “It’s surreal. It’s overwhelming. It gives me a sense of purpose and I’m anxious to get back to work.” Kapoor also reportedly said the verdicts against Stern and Eroshevich were really ‘a victory for them too,’ saying the counts pertained only to their use of different names on prescriptions to protect Smith’s privacy. “The emotional toll of the trial is unbelievable, and I don’t know how I got the strength,” he said. Kapoor’s attorney, Ellyn Garofalo, criticised the prosecution of the case as ‘over-reaching and over-zealous,’ and may have been motivated by tabloid stories.” Stern will appear back in court on January 6th for sentencing. He faces a maximum of three years behind bars. As the verdicts were read against him, Stern bowed his head and put his face in his hands. Prosecutors argued during the trial that Stern and the two doctors worked together to keep Smith well-supplied with ample amounts of prescription medications, using different names and In her closing argument, Deputy District Attorney Renee Rose told jurors the evidence presented during the nine-week trial showed ‘that these defendants knew what they were doing was wrong’ and that ‘they knew their conduct was unlawful. ‘ Stern’s attorney, Steve Sadow, countered that there was an ‘abundance of reasonable doubt’ in the case against his client and the doctors, and said prosecutors had trashed Smith ‘as an out-of-control drug addict’ and showed no regard for the chronic pain the former Playboy model suffered for years. Kapoor’s attorney, Ellyn Garofalo, told jurors that her client was acting in ‘good faith’ and had a ‘legitimate medical purpose’ in prescribing medications to Smith. Eroshevich’s attorney, Bradley Brunon, argued that the psychiatrist reached out on an ‘emergency mission’ to help Smith after the former reality television star’s son died and did what she could to try to help her in a time of crisis.

The star of the original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo film says people are surprised at how nice she is when they meet her. Noomi Rapace played the heroine Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish-language version of the popular novel series. The 30-year-old actress told the Los Angeles Times that when fans meet her in person they expect her to be like her dark on-screen character. She said: “I think people expect me to be a punk, aggressive, an angry person with a lot of black make-up and really not able to communicate and all that. “And a lot of people actually called my managers and my agents and said, ‘She’s so nice’. But what did [they] expect? It’s pretty interesting.” The Swedish star, who is currently filming the new Sherlock Holmes movie with British director Guy Ritchie, also revealed that she recently had a chat with her Oscar-nominated co-star Robert Downey JR and totally forgot that he is a celebrity. She said: “Once we started to talk about work, then it doesn’t matter if it’s a big movie star or not. With actors, when you take away the whole entourage and celebrity thing and the whole circus, it’s about something much deeper. You can talk with an open heart and I totally forgot that he was a big, famous movie star” The actress, who is also reportedly set to appear on the big-screen in the new Alien prequel, revealed that she is recognised so frequently when she is back home in Sweden that she can no longer “just go out”. She said: “Everybody knows me. If I was sitting like this [in public], people would be looking and somebody would come up and ask for an autograph and people would probably be listening to us and what we’re saying. “I can’t really just go out in Stockholm. I have to have a car waiting. I can’t take the bus. It’s not possible anymore.”

Reports are going around that Christina Aguilera and Good Charlotte rock star Benji Madden have a very close friendship or possibly more going on between them. While this hasn’t been confirmed just yet, you have to admit that it’s interesting. I wonder how long they’ve been friends. Well, the 29-year old pop singer has become very close with Benji’s sister-in-law Nicole Richie this year so this bit of news isn’t completely baseless. Do you think they’re more than just friends? Could Benji be the reason for Christina’s divorce from her music exec hubby Jordan Bratman? Was there cheating involved or something?

This doesn’t really come as a shocker especially given how Girls Aloud practically doesn’t exist at the moment, but what’s fascinating is that this situation has been thus for a long time. Nadine Coyle had this to say when she was asked to which of her band mates she is closest: “At the minute, none of them. We’ve known each other since we were 16 and everybody moves on. It’s like when you go on holiday with someone and say, ‘Let’s be friends forever!’ It doesn’t work out like that. It’s just one of those things.” Well now, that practically crashes any hope of Girls Aloud ever really getting back on track. At least Nadine Coyle has her solo career.
Sharing the small screen with Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake as a kid was a demoralising experience for Ryan Gosling. The actor has opened up about his time on The Mickey Mouse Club, saying that starring alongside the future chart toppers was tough. “It was kind of depressing because when I got there, they realized that I wasn’t really up to snuff in comparison with what some of the other kids were able to do,” he admitted. In the two years the now 29-year-old spent on the show, he did back-up dances for the trio of performers. “I remember one time they put four of us in a dance routine, but I was so off,” he recalled speaking to Interview magazine. “I was on the end, so they just pushed the shot in closer on the other three guys to frame me out. I would just come in at the beginning of the show and then come back at the end.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have spent a day with two of their young brood at an historic thermal spa in Budapest according to reports. The stars, along with Zahara, five, and Pax, six, reportedly checked out Lukács Gyógyfürdo, an indoor-outdoor thermal bath facility that dates back to the 12th century. On offer for the celebrity clan, thermal baths, modern swimming pools, spa treatments and saunas. The outing proved a success with their son. “Pax was definitely for it,” an eyewitness told People. “He came out laughing, and his hair was still wet when they were leaving.” The Jolie-Pitt family is currently calling the Hungarian capital home as the actress gets to work on her directorial debut in the city. In recent days toddler twins Knox and Vivienne have also been spotted exploring their neighbourhood with their nannies.
Actor Ryan Gosling wants to remind people that he is not Ryan Reynolds because people often confuse him for Scarlett Johansson’s husband. Ryan told Steve Carell in the November issue of US Interview magazine: “I get that a lot, I do think it’s because we’re both Canadian.” He added: “I can’t tell you how many times people go, ‘Are you Ryan?’ And I go, ‘Yeah,’ and they say, ‘Can I get a picture?’ “Then they take the picture and realise, in that moment, that I’m not Ryan Reynolds – I can see the disappointment in their faces.”

Sources have confirmed that the CW network, known for its devotion to teen dramas and comedies, is looking to develop its own musical hour-long show. They have already enlisted the help of the crew behind the movie ‘Bandslam and Camp’ to get the ball rolling. The project, called ‘Acting Out’, is being described as ‘Glee’ meets ‘Bad Santa’. All I could understand about that was bad. The show reportedly revolves around the “relationships of counselors and staff of a down-on-its-luck summer camp whose new owner is a young curmudgeon in the vein of Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa.” I truly think that people are going to see this as nothing but a rip off of Ryan Murphy’s brain child.
Kevin Jonas is selling his Texas mansion for $2.2m, according to US reports. The Jonas Brothers singer and his wife Danielle reportedly bought the home in the Westlake neighbourhood of Dallas, Texas, after their wedding last year. The three-bedroom home sits on 0.71 acre and includes an outdoor kitchen and a pool with hot tub and fountains. The Tuscan-style mansion also boasts a media room, a climate-controlled wine room, and a study. The home was built on a golf course and the sale price includes the $175,000 club membership fee, according to US website HousingWatch.com.
It’s a good thing that the economy is already in the tank because if the loan market was any better, Ke$ha might still be refinancing mortgages over the phone. The pop singer recently revealed that she used to work as a telemarketer before she hit the big time. Ke$ha sold housing loans and refinanced mortgages. It sounds like it wasn’t really her thing and it’s a proven fact because the pop star only had the job for two days. Maybe people complained about not understanding anything she said over the phone because she slurred too much. I’d definitely believe that.
Birthday girl Kim Kardashian has posted a Twitter picture of her surrounded by screaming pals as she celebrated turning 30. The curvy socialite has been enjoying birthday parties across the US in the countdown to the big day. And she marked the moment she finally left her 20s behind on October 21 by posting a Twitter snap of her showing her new age with her fingers while surrounded pals. Kim tweeted: “UH OH! The big 3-0!!!!” The reality TV star partied in Las Vegas and New York as she prepared to turn 30. But she admitted: “It’s nerve-wracking because now when someone says ‘How old are you?’ I have to say 30. It scares me a little bit.”
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has reportedly been involved in a two-car crash. The actress was allegedly driving in Hollywood when a car turned in front of her and when she was unable to swerve out of the away, Longoria smashed into the other car, according to TMZ.com. The 35-year-old and the other driver were left with minor injuries but no one was admitted to hospital. The entertainment website reports that the accident is under investigation, although it has been suggested Longoria won’t be ‘on the hook’ for the damage. Eva’s Beso restaurant is close to where the accident happened.
