Rachel Bilson has said her fiance Hayden Christensen is like a human dictionary.
The 28-year-old actress is engaged to the Star Wars actor and said people will need a dictionary to read some of his interviews.
Bilson said to Cleo magazine: “Yeah, he’s very, very articulate. He has a wide vocabulary and he’s quite a clever guy.
“There are definitely things where I’ll be like: ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about right now.’ Or: ‘What does that word mean?!’ We definitely have that every so often.”
Asked if he is like a human dictionary, she said: “Exactly!”
Oscar-nominated actress Carey Mulligan is reportedly lonely after moving to the US.
The 24-year-old has moved in with her American actor boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, 23, who lives in America, and she is reportedly homesick after leaving friends and family behind in Britain.
A pal said to UK Newspaper The Mail on Sunday: “Carey is lonely, the move has been hard on her and she has found herself taking second place for the entire awards season.”
Mulligan has already split with the Transformers actor once before and she is reportedly doubting their union once again.
The friend added: “Carey is having doubts again. She has been working hard and so has Shia. They only ever get a couple of days a week to spend together. Now Carey is feeling restless once more.”
Cherie Currie recently talked to Spin magazine to talk about what she thought when she saw the movie ‘The Runaways’, which is about her band with Joan Jett back in the 70s. The iconic rock star said “I was stunned. When you live something, your first reaction is to say, ‘Well, that’s not right’ or “Wait a minute, it didn’t happen that way.’ Then Joan and I saw it again and thought, ‘Wow, this is really good.’ It takes time for it to sink in. I thought the performances were just incredible.” I wonder what she felt when she heard Kristen Stewart’s and Dakota Fanning’s renditions of some of their songs.
Tim Burton might be in charge of movie takes on Alice in Wonderland, but Helena Bonham Carter calls the shots at home.
The Alice star said: “At home I’m the boss – he calls me ‘chief’ and I would say on the whole he likes me to make the decisions. He’s not a mad professor type. His time management is good. He is financially responsible. A part of him maybe exists in an alternative reality but he is a very sane and grounded good father.”
Burton, whose 3-D fantasy film starring Johnny Depp has taken London by storm, is the father of Bonham Carter’s two children. The actress admitted things can get contentious on set. “At work is where we sometimes get it wrong. He’s the boss and I’m not as silent as he’d like me to be.”
Zoe Saldana bamboozled interviewers as she calls her dress the ”embodiment of everything I’ve been through”.
The Avatar actress wasn’t nominated for an Oscar but clearly deserved a gong for talking up her dress.
She said: “It’s yards and yards of fabric. It’s the dress that the moment my stylist and I saw it we immediately fell in love with it. It fits everything I’ve been through leading up to tonight and my whole experience in Avatar. It embodies everything that I’ve been through. It’s big and it’s colourful and shimmery. That’s exactly what Avatar did.”
Bafta-winning actress Carey Mulligan said she finds it ‘quite difficult’ getting ready for red-carpet events.
Mulligan, 24, recently picked up the Best Actress in a Leading Role gong at the British Academy Film Awards and is also nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards later this month for her role in An Education.
Asked if she likes getting dressed up for the events, she said: “I find it quite difficult. I’m not very good at having my photo taken so I get quite teary when the flashbulbs are going off.
“I feel a little bit uncomfortable. I’ll get used to it more with my next movie coming out, but I don’t really like that side of it very much.”
Oscar hopeful Anna Kendrick is making the glitzy awards ceremony a family affair – so she can introduce her mother to George Clooney.
Instead of having a hot date on her arm, the Up In The Air star will be walking the red carpet with her mum and brother.
“I’m flying them out. I’m so excited,” she said. “My Mom wants to meet George Clooney.”
Kendrick, 24, is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at this year’s Academy Awards.
But she confessed she was too nervous to watch the Oscar nominations announcement.
“I went for a run at five in the morning,” she said. “I just waited for my roommate to text me.
“And then it was actually really nice because I was sort of alone in the dark. I kind of wanted to shout, but I didn’t want to wake everyone up at 5.30 in the morning.”
Gabby Sidibe, star of Precious, says she would rather take her mum to her all-important first Oscars ceremony than hunky pop singer Justin Timberlake.
Despite having a major crush on the handsome chart-topper, the curvy actress told CBS’s Early Show she’d take a rain check on a date with him if he asked to escort her to the glitzy March event.
The 26-year-old New Yorker is nominated for a best actress award for her first ever acting role, in hit movie Precious: Based On The Novel Push by Sapphire.
She also revealed to presenter Maggie Rodriguez that she officially has a boyfriend and already has her glamorous gown ready for her first Oscars.
But her new beau won’t get the chance to link arms with Gabby on the red carpet – instead her beloved mother will join her for the evening.
When asked whether she’d switch her companion for the likes of Justin Timberlake, she replied: “That’s really mean! I’d have to tell him that I have to take my mum – but he should meet me at Red Lobster afterwards!”
Also nominated for the prestigious award are movie royalty Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren, as well as heavy-hitters Sandra Bullock and Carey Mulligan.
Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks says she doesn’t know why her body is such a big issue.
The 34-year-old actress said: “It might sound silly, but I didn’t realise I was so different.
“I was just oblivious. Sometimes, I would go on an audition and someone would say something like: ‘Girl, you’re refreshing!’ That was it.”
Hendricks’ figure has got lots of attention since the success of Mad Men, the 1960s-based US TV show, in which she plays secretary Joan Holloway.
But the actress says she wasn’t that comfortable with the comments about her body, even if they were complimentary.
“It kind of hurt my feelings at first. Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious.
“I was working my butt off on the show and then all anyone was talking about was my body.”
The former catalogue model said: “It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Back when I was modelling, if someone said: ‘I’m fasting’, I would say: ‘Can’t we talk about something else?’”
These days, when she’s not heating up the small screen in Mad Men, directors are calling her to play motherly roles.
“The way we dress on Mad Men is so associated with old photographs, with people’s parents and grandparents. In person, I wear jeans and flip-flops and people are so shocked. They tell me I look so much younger than they expected.”
Sandra Bullock has admitted a Valentine’s Day mishap when she managed to burn her pubic hair.
The Blind Side actress, married to motorcycle enthusiast Jesse James, recently said she was horrified when her special Valentine’s Day grooming efforts went wrong.
Bullock explained: “I decided for Valentine’s Day I would do a special hair thing. I wanted to try to create a pink heart shape with my lower hair. It was painful.
“You had to bleach it first. There’s something about bleach that feels like acid. Then I had to shave it. I was in so much pain, but I kept going and put the pink dye on and it went the wrong colour.”
Bullock also had another colour nightmare when she went blonde for her role in The Blind Side – her husband Jesse hated it.
She told OK! Magazine: “There is a very important person in my life who just didn’t want me being blonde – thank God.
“There was a big person who said, ‘I don’t like the blonde on you, take it off’. You want him to say that. You do.”
Lord Of The Rings stars Liv Tyler and Viggo Mortensen are Hollywood’s highest-earning screen pair.
The duo appeared as lovers in Peter Jackson’s hit movie trilogy and they helped the movies make $3.4billion at the box office.
Spiderman stars Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire came second in the list, which was put together by Forbes magazine, after the three films made $3.0billion.
Also in the list were pairs of actors that had appeared in more than one movie together.
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio came third in the list after making $2billion for Titanic and then $1000million for Revolutionary Road in 2008.
Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore says she doesn’t worry about getting older.
The 34-year-old star, who is dating fellow thespian Justin Long, added that it’s happiness that leads to looking good.
Asked if she worries about ageing, she said: “Not at all. I’m happy and I think happiness is what makes you pretty. Happy people are beautiful.
“They become like a mirror and they reflect that happiness.
“If somebody walks in the room looking drop-dead gorgeous and sexy, it’s fun to look at that person, but I think people who make you laugh and feel good and give of their spirit have a much deeper level of beauty.”
Newly-engaged actress Kristen Bell has said she always puts her partner above her work.
The 29-year-old star, who has appeared in movies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and new movie Astro Boy, recently got engaged to actor Dax Shephard, 35.
She said: “I think your significant other should be way more important than your work. I love working, but I wouldn’t say I’m a workaholic because I also love maxin’ and relaxin’.
“At the moment, I feel like I’m at a really lovely place and I’m grateful to be there. So I like working too, but I know what my priorities are. I’m kind of a homebody. I really like to cook – it relaxes me.
“It’s almost meditative. I’m at home a lot. I enjoy being there and giving dinner parties. I’m also into hiking, going on walks – the simpler things in life.
“I don’t enjoy bars or clubs, mainly because I fall asleep earlier than everyone else. I also don’t like places where I can’t hear my friends.”
‘The Runaways’ premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past weekend and I am hearing a lot of good buzz about it. On the red carpet, the movie’s stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning were joined by music icons Joan Jett and Cherie Currie before going in to see the film. I find it so sad that Joan actually looks hotter than Kristen. However, Dakota is definitely growing up beautifully in comparison. Cherie must have been so happy that they cast such a pretty little actress to play her instead of a brooding bitch like Kristen. I can’t wait to see this movie and see just how great Dakota is!
Lovely Bones star Saoirse Ronan has said that she finds fame hard to deal with.
The 15-year-old, who previously starred in the hit movie Atonement opposite Keira Knightley, said she knows that her fame isn’t as much of a problem as it is for some other film stars but she still isn’t comfortable with it.
She said to UK newspaper The Guardian: “I find that hard to deal with, though I don’t have it as bad as the Twilight people or the Harry Potter kids.
“But it is weird. If I notice that a guy is looking at me – a man – I think: ‘Is this a really weird guy staring at me, or does he just recognise me from a film?’”
