Ashlee Simpson Wentz has confirmed reports she will appear in the Broadway show Chicago.
The 25-year-old previously appeared on London’s West End as Roxie Hart and following the end of her stint on revived show Melrose Place, she will be heading to Broadway to play Roxie once again.
Ashlee will start her run as Roxie at New York’s theatre district on November 30.
She said: “I’m honored to be reprising my role as Chicago’s Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast.
“Being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true.”
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was reportedly booted off the TV show Melrose Place because she was a “total diva” on set.
The 25-year-old actress played the role of Violet Foster in the first season of the remade TV series.
However, producers axed her character and claimed it was due to storylines in the show.
But a source said: “Ashlee was kicked off Melrose Place because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members.
The remake of hit US 90s soap opera Melrose Place got off to a dramatic start as Ashlee Simpson’s character found a dead body in the apartment complex’s swimming pool.
The younger sister of Jessica Simpson made her bow on the new-look TV show by letting out a scream after discovering the apartments’ landlady floating stabbed in the pool.
Ashlee plays Violet Foster, the new tenant at the apartments, who producers say will turn out to be a “scheming minx”.
The original Melrose Place series ran for seven years in the 1990s.
It was set in a small apartment complex in West Hollywood and starred Heather Locklear as the resident maneater.

After all the hustle and bustle of a laborious birth, Ashlee Simpson finally gave birth last Tuesday to the latest addition to the
Simpson-Wetz household—baby Bronx! The 7-pound baby boy is the newest apple of the eye not only of Ashlee and Pete but also of new aunt Jessica.
Jessica, who was so excited about the baby, admitted she is overjoyed seeing her sister’s precious little boy who according to her is the most precious and adorable ever. Their little bundle of joy has been named Bronx Mowgli (obviously after a borough
and a Disney animated film character).
The baby is the first for both the pop star mom and the rock star dad so you can just imagine how happy the whole household
is, including grandparents Tina and Joe Simpson as well as Pete and Dale Wentz. The two were married in Los Angeles just
last May and announced the pregnancy a few weeks after that.
Ashlee was already overdue so everyone was doing everything to speed up her labor including different types of foot massages! But now that it’s over and done with, watch out for the first photos of the already-famous baby!
It’s about time! Her tummy looks like its about to pop anyhow.
Life & Style is reporting that Ashlee Simpson went into labor on Saturday. Also, Pete cancelled on Jay Leno in the last minute for an “emergency”.
So, Pete Wentz should be welcoming his first child into the world any second now.

Ashlee Simpson Wentz and rocker husband Pete Wentz are expecting a baby later this fall. That’s not going to be the only addition to their home though as they are expecting Ashlee’s mom Tina too. According to Life & Style, Tina Simpson will be moving into the couple’s household. A family friend told the mag “Her mom, Tina, is going to move in with them for a few days, maybe even a few weeks, to help out after Ash gives birth.” When asked just how Pete felt about it, the source said “He’s totally cool with it. They get along really well. He’ll probably have his own family in and out, so it’s all good.”
Pete Wentz is turning into his father. The Fall Out Boy rocker – who is expecting his first child with wife Ashlee Simpson – admits the impending arrival has caused him to adopt the habits of his dad, also named Pete.
He said: “I’m becoming my dad, actually! I get up at 7am to drive to work down Sunset Boulevard with traffic that I complain about. And then I come home, and I have a pregnant wife and two puppies!”
Pete also revealed he is finding every stage of Ashlee’s pregnancy ‘crazy’. He added: “It’s really, really, really, really exciting. When I’m in the doctor’s office, I freak out – it’s this crazy thing, this thing you made. It’s like making a record, but knowing you’re going to mix it for the next 18 years of your life!”
When asked if he knew the gender of his baby, Pete replied: “We are hoping the doctor will be able to see something in the next couple of weeks.”
Ashlee Simpson is turning into more of a hippy as her baby bump grows right before our eyes. Are we sure she’s not carrying twins? Anyway, baby store Petit Tresor may have ruined the guessing game for all of us. Just as they did with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, the baby store is claiming that Ashlee is expecting a boy after a recent shopping spree of everything in blue. Maybe she’s carrying twin boys then. Tom sued the store for leaking out fake stories on his wife’s shopping sprees. I wonder if Pete Wentz will make the same move.

The launch date was April 22 and after just a bit over a month later, her so-called designs are doing so poorly that they’re practically giving it away for free. The line started out with a dozen different shirts originally marked at $19.50. Now, they’re being sold on Wet Seal’s website for just $4.99. Poor Ashlee, her shirts cost less than a latte. Much like her music and acting career, her clothing line may not have gone so well but at least she still has her new husband and baby on the way to fall back on. Let’s just hope that she doesn’t decide to make baby clothes now.
Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson will be getting married soon… sooner than everyone might have expected. The couple is said to be getting married this Saturday at a supposed secret location. The rehearsal dinner for family and close friends will reportedly take place on Friday at another secret location. A source says that “Proper invites have not been sent out but instead guests have been given a save the date notice” and that “all guests will be transported in shuttles to the wedding location.” I’m willing to bet that Ashlee’s manager and father Joe Simpson will pimp out the wedding pictures. News broke that the recently engaged Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are expecting their first child together on Monday. Pete was the first to deny the rumors but Ashlee is now following suit. On a taping of an episode of TRL to air on Thursday, Ashlee denied that she was pregnant. A source says that “She said that the rumors have been going around for about a year now and if she was pregnant she shoulda had the baby by now.” But those are regarding rumors. Pete, 28, also wishes men’s fashion took more risks, and is envious of the clothing available to women.
He added: “I don’t know if I would really consider myself fashionable, but I think that fashion is kind of an awesome way to project who you are inside, and I really, really like going to fashion shows, and I really like women’s fashion. I wish men’s fashion had more risk-taking going on.”
