Emma Stone says her nomination is ‘insane’

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

emmastone.jpg

Actress Emma Stone thinks it is ‘surreal’ that she has been nominated for a Golden Globe along with Hollywood stars such as Angelina Jolie. Stone never thought she would see her name been read along with big names such as Julianne Moore and Jolie when the Golden Globe nominations were announced yesterday. The 22-year-old told People.com: “Let’s just be honest, that’s pretty surreal. “I don’t know what I’m going to do when I see her in person. I’m going to freak out when I see anybody in person.” Emma has been nominated for her role in film Easy A, and said she felt emotional after hearing the news. She said: “It’s insane! I’m still coming to realisation that I got nominated. “I’m in the state of ‘Oh, My God!’ My mum and dad called and they were on speakerphone and said, ‘We’re proud of you,’ and that was the best. I teared up.” The star is hoping to bring her mother as her date to the ceremony.

Justin Bieber’s new award at AMA

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

The singer recently won the Artist of the Year Award at the American Music Awards. Since Justin Bieber is still pretty young and innocent he didn’t forget about his mentor Usher and invited him up on stage upon receiving the award: “I really was embraced by a man named Usher Raymond. It would be only right if I invited him up here to share it with me.” It’s good to see Justin Bieber hasn’t forgotten where he left off from… but that will be remedied with time. And afterwards, Usher can find himself another little protégé to soar to greater heights

Katy Perry presenting the kids’ choices

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

It looks like the singer recently landed herself a nice little gig that will help her become friendlier with the little ones. Together with Robert Downey Jr. Katy Perry will be presenting the prizes to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. An excellent chance for Katy Perry to bond with the tastes of the young ones… after all, it might not be long before she has a bunch of miniature womanizers running around her home. It would be a shame for Katy Perry not to be aware of the adequate type of education for her own little versions of Russell Brand.

Lily Allen Talks Courtney Love

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Lily Allen recently took to her Twitter to address the bitchy exchange that happened at the NME Awards between her and Courtney Love, even calling the Hole rock star a “paranoid drug-addled lunatic”. The British train wreck of a singer said “just clearing a couple of things up. Courtney Love and I did NOT have a bust up at the NME’S. There was an exchange of words, yes. she’s upset because she has got it into her head that i put a lock on some dresses for the brit awards. she’s made no secret of this and when i saw her at the NME’S she tried to talk to me and i told her to shut up stop spreading stupid rumours about me. and thats pretty much it. i would never fight with her , as a rule i don’t pick on crazy old ladies.”

Jonas Brothers are the Worst

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

The Jonas Brothers were awarded the Worst Album for ‘Lines Vines Trying Times’ and Worst Band at the NME Shockwave Awards in London as voted upon by the so-called fans. Other contenders for the Worst Album were Green Day’s ‘21st Century Breakdown’, Lady Gaga’s ‘The Fame’, U2’s ‘No Line on the Horizon’ and Arctic Monkey’s ‘Humbug’. As for Worst Band nominees, they list Green Day, Oasis Paramore, JLS and the Jonas Brothers. With Lady Gaga and Paramore on the list, I don’t think anyone should take this seriously. Plus, it’s not like the Jonas Brothers are a big draw to the NME audience.

Carey Mulligan finds it ‘quite difficult’ getting ready for red-carpet events

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Bafta-winning actress Carey Mulligan said she finds it ‘quite difficult’ getting ready for red-carpet events.

Mulligan, 24, recently picked up the Best Actress in a Leading Role gong at the British Academy Film Awards and is also nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards later this month for her role in An Education.

Asked if she likes getting dressed up for the events, she said: “I find it quite difficult. I’m not very good at having my photo taken so I get quite teary when the flashbulbs are going off.

“I feel a little bit uncomfortable. I’ll get used to it more with my next movie coming out, but I don’t really like that side of it very much.”

Courtney Love prowls twitter once more

Friday, February 26th, 2010

It seems that the infamous singer has taken once more to haunting the ethereal mists of twitter. This time Courtney Love thought it fit to discuss her latest cat-fight with Lily Allen at the NME Awards. This is what Courtney Love wrote on the matter: “Pretty darn rich coming from someone who starts nonsensical fights with people out of insecure jealousy on a weekly basis. At least when I’ve started fights with people its because they fuck w my kid or fuck w my $. No further comment, hatred is not my drink, I don’t like jealousy, vindictiveness, stalkers, selfishness and dishonesty, that’s just me!” Coherent sentences! And actual ideas! It must’ve taken Courtney Love quite a great deal of effort to sober up to write that, but it was probably worth it. She showed that Lily Allen a thing or two!

Sandra Bullock jokingly claims she slept with Tiger Woods

Friday, January 8th, 2010

SPL139866_020Sandra Bullock had an awards show audience in stitches when she jokingly claimed she’d slept with Tiger Woods.

The 45-year-old film star cracked the golfer gag on stage at the People’s Choice Awards, after being Best Movie Actress.

Announcing the nominees, presenter George Lopez joked: “I have the honour of naming the five white women in America that Tiger Woods has not slept with.”

But when Bullock stepped up to collect her award, she said she needed to correct him.

“It’s only four women up here who have not slept with Tiger Woods,” she said, pulling an awkward face in front of the audience. “Just kidding. I’m so just kidding,” she added.

Bullock, whose movie The Proposal was named Best Comedy Film, also made actress Nicole Kidman blush by commenting on their similar hairstyles.

“I’d just like to say Nicole and I deliberately did our hair the same today,” she laughed, as cameras cast to the Aussie film star who covered her face in the seats below.

But Bullock’s jokes quickly turned to tears when she paid an emotional tribute to her family during the acceptance speech.

“Life is hard sometimes, but we get through with laughter,” she said, choking back tears.

“To my Dad – I hope you’re feeling better. And my husband, who is my boyfriend, who makes me feel like this every single day. He allows me to leave the house and he keeps things settled until I get back so I get to do what I get to do.”
