Carrie Underwood Sweeps American Country Awards

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

Carrie Underwood was a big winner for the first ever American County Awards held this past Monday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 27-year old country singer swept the ACAs, which were based on online fan voting, taking home six guitar trophies, including the night’s top honor of artist of the year! Carrie also won for female artist, album, female single, female music video and touring headline package of the year. Congratulations are definitely in order! With all the hard work that Carrie has invested in her career, she definitely deserves it. But I have a feeling that Taylor Swift is going to take the lead next year.

Carrie Underwood Shops at Night

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Carrie Underwood has recently admitted that she get panic attacks from crowds. Add that to the fact that she’s a world renowned country singer and you know it’s not a good mix. To alleviate some of her anxiety from crowded places, the American Idol alum does her food shopping late at night to avoid the hustle and bustle of the grocery store. Carrie said “I’m horrible in crowds. I just get so nervous… I don’t like shopping in close quarters. I just cannot do that. I wash the make-up off… and I’m in a ponytail, glasses, my sweatpants. People won’t tell me, ‘Are you Carrie Underwood?’ They’ll say, ‘Wow, you look like Carrie Underwood.’”

Selena Gomez Talks Carrie Underwood

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Despite claiming to be drama-free, Carrie Underwood’s recent anti-politics comments have garnered the country crooner negative attention. Disney’s newest princess Selena Gomez responded to Carrie’s statement that celebrities should not make public political endorsements with some disapproval. She said “A lot of people do look up to certain celebrities and will follow in their footsteps. I think you just have to be aware of what you’re saying.” Although the young star is not yet old enough to vote, she was active in encouraging the under-18 crowd to educate themselves. Selena helped launch UR Vote Counts, which conducted a faux election for teens with voting booths set up in malls.

Carrie Underwood Loses Celebrity Respect

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has reportedly lost all respect for Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney and other celebrities who have backed candidates for office. Talk about ruffling some feathers. While talking about the elections with TV Guide, Carrie said “There is someone I do support, but I don’t support publicly. I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate. It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions. I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to. Music is where you go to get away from all the BS. Whether it’s from politics or just the world around you, music should be an escape.”

Taylor Swift is a Cover Girl

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Taylor Swift is a fast rising star in the country music scene and she’s already a cover girl. The singer is all of 18 years old and she’s doing quite well for herself by getting featured on the cover of the new issue of Blender magazine – that doesn’t happen often for a country artist. Taylor also writes her own music and her song ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ is gaining some speed on mainstream radio. I don’t follow country music that much, except maybe for Carrie Underwood, but Taylor’s songs are so catchy that I just can’t help but listen to her too.

Chace-ing JC

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Who knew that ‘Gossip Girl’ star Chace Crawford and former NSYNC member JC Chasez were friends? The two were reportedly joined at the hip in Miami Beach this past weekend. On Sunday alone, the new buddies hit up at least three parties together.

First, they had dinner at a Stereo NYC hosted event at the Kobe Club. Then it was off to The Florida Room’s pre-New Year’s Eve party at the Delano. And then, at 3 in the morning, Chace and JC were seen still partying it up at Mokai. This is not helping those gay rumors circling JC. We all know that Chace is dating Carrie Underwood so we can cross that off his list.

Carrie Underwood Keeps it Cute

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood has always been cute as a bunny and she’s keeping it that way when she came out in a pink confection at the world premiere of the new comedy-fantasy-musical Disney flick ‘Enchanted’ which was held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday.

The movie, which uses a combination of live action, traditional animation and CGI, will open this Wednesday, November 21. As for why Carrie was there, the American Idol alum actually sang a song on the movie soundtrack called ‘Ever Ever After’. A video for the song has already been released where Carrie still keeps it cute.
